About Geojots

Interesting finds,
told like a photo essay.

Geojots is a photojournalist-style notebook of the world's interesting finds: unique landmarks, historic points, geological features, cultural corners, festivals and beautiful oddities. Each find is researched, pinned on a global map, and published as a short illustrated dispatch — the companion site to the @geojots Instagram account.

How we work

Dispatches are researched with AI assistance using reliable public sources — park services, museums, heritage bodies and reputable local reporting. They are not firsthand travel reports. Documented fact and local legend are kept distinct; practical notes are editorial judgment.

The photographs

We use real, attributed photographs — never generated documentary imagery. Every caption describes what is actually in the frame, and every image links to its original record, creator and exact reuse license. We resize images to WebP; homepage and card thumbnails use display crops, gallery images are shown uncropped. Photographs are archival views and may not show current conditions.

Map and privacy

Pins mark approximate find locations, not entrances. Map data comes from OpenStreetMap contributors. Fonts are served from this site. We do not request your location, run visitor accounts, advertising or analytics trackers.
